The Taliban regime declared the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for their arrest as ‘politically motivated’.
This announcement was made by the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.
It appeared after the decision to seek warrants against top Taliban officials for crimes against humanity, particularly women.
The Ministry argued that the court would not strip other societies of their national and religious values.
Taliban completely violated human and women rights. Taliban became notorious for its rigidly enforced Islamic laws after taking power in 2021.
The Afghan Foreign Ministry says that the ICC verdicts were made on an unjust legal ground and were full of unjust discrimination.
The ministry claims that foreign troops and their Afghan collaborators committed war crimes.
Moreover, crimes against humanity during the 20-year occupation of Afghanistan, which have been overlooked by the ICC.
Afghanistan’s deputy interior minister, Mohammad Nabi Omari, called the ICC’s actions unfair and ineffective.
He said that America started wars and caused restlessness all over the world.
Additionally, he criticized the court that did not bring the nation into book.
Omari also referred to the military operations of Israel in Gaza following the Hamas attacks in October 2023.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu committed them as war crimes.
Moreover, he argued that the fact that the ICC remained silent over these issues indicated that it was biased.
Whereas, the international powers were protecting Israel.
International help, said Omari, allowed Netanyahu to go scot-free despite executing thousands of innocent Palestinians. Women and children, were killed during the conflict.
