Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has decided to call off ongoing discussions with the government, according to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Barrister Gohar shared that the decision was made during a meeting with Imran Khan and other legal representatives.
He disclosed that a seven-day deadline had been issued to the government for the establishment of a judicial commission.
Commenting on the stalled talks, Gohar Ali Khan emphasized that the continuation of negotiations was contingent upon the government’s announcement of the commission.
“We clearly conveyed that further dialogue would not take place unless the commission was formed, but no progress has been made on this front,” he said.
He further remarked that the talks might resume only if a judicial commission consisting of three judges is constituted.
“Without such a step, the discussions are officially over as of today,” he confirmed.
Highlighting the ongoing political impasse, Gohar quoted Imran Khan as stating that the lack of consensus and the government’s inaction on the commission’s formation have brought the negotiation process to an end.
