Many Hollywood stars lost their homes in the devastating wildfire erupted in Los Angeles which forced hundreds of thousand of residents to flee.
The worst fire in the city’s history claimed numerous celebrity homes, including those of Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Crystal, a longtime resident of Pacific Palisades, lost the home where he raised his family. He expressed his heartbreak, saying, “Though our house is gone, the love of our children and friends will carry us through.”
Paris Hilton, who witnessed her Malibu beach mansion burn down on live television, described the experience as “heart-wrenching.” She wrote, “Watching our home burn to ashes on TV is an unbearable pain.”
James Woods, a two-time Oscar nominee, recounted his harrowing escape from the flames. “One moment you’re enjoying your pool, and the next, everything is reduced to ashes,” he said, choking back tears.
Other celebrities who lost their homes or were forced to evacuate include Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Miles Teller, and Anna Faris.
Jennifer Grey’s daughter, Stella Gregg, revealed that the “Dirty Dancing” star’s home had been destroyed, but Grey and her dog had escaped unharmed.
Maria Shriver, a journalist and former California first lady, described the devastation in Pacific Palisades as “apocalyptic.” She wrote, “Our neighborhood, restaurants – everything is gone.”
Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis expressed her terror, saying, “My community, possibly my home, is on fire. It’s a heart-stopping situation.”
Mandy Moore, known for her roles in “This Is Us” and “Tangled,” said she and her family were safe but uncertain about the fate of their home. “I’m in shock, feeling numb for all that’s been lost,” she wrote.
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise, evacuated his Malibu home with his wife and dog. He shared his experience on Instagram, saying, “We’re grateful to be safe, but our hearts go out to those who’ve lost everything.”
