Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s advisor on political affairs, has strongly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-insan (PTI) and its founder, Imran Khan, accusing them of internal conspiracies and false propaganda.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he claimed that PTI is deeply divided, with members engaged in infighting and using underhanded tactics against one another.
He described Imran Khan as someone unwilling to engage in straightforward dialogue or provide written commitments, which has obstructed meaningful political negotiations.
The PMLN leader highlighted leaked conversations involving key PTI figures, including Bushra Bibi, Aleema Khan, and Sher Afzal Marwat, as evidence of internal dysfunction.
He referenced a viral video where Aleema Khan allegedly advised against publicly discussing the jail facilities provided to Imran Khan fearing it could weaken PTI’s political narrative of victimhood.
Rana accused PTI of deliberately fabricating stories about Imran Khan’s hardships in jail to gain public sympathy despite him receiving all facilities as per the jail manual.
He dismissed earlier claims of Aleema Khan, such as alleged poisoning threats in jail, as baseless and part of a calculated propaganda effort.
According to Rana, PTI, which initially gained prominence through social media campaigns, is now being exposed on the same platform.
He argued that the party’s reliance on misinformation and conspiracies has backfired, undermining its credibility.
Rana also criticized PTI’s broader political strategy, accusing it of destabilizing Pakistan by causing unrest and targeting state institutions.
He emphasized the government’s sincere efforts to engage in dialogue with PTI, including coalition partners in the negotiation process, but lamented PTI’s lack of cooperation.
Concluding his remarks, Rana questioned PTI’s integrity and future, citing its internal conflicts and reliance on deceitful tactics.
He urged the public to recognize the schemes and praised the government’s focus on stability, contrasting it with PTI’s alleged attempts to create political chaos.
