Addressing at National Assembly, he insisted that the parliament has already adopted the law regarding mechanism for the registration of religious seminaries. The speaker of the National Assembly, he added, has addressed the objection raised by the president.
Hence, he demanded, the gazette notification for of the Societies Registration (Amendment) Act, 2024.
In case the government showed reluctance in acceptance of his demand, he warned, his party would take to the streets.
Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, however, insisted that there is need to address the objection raised by the president on the act. Ittehad Tanzeemat-i-Madaris
Ittehad Tanzeemat-i-Madaris, a conglomerate of five religious seminaries board, in a meeting in Islamabad has also demanded the issuance of gazette notification of the act.
The heads of the five boards of madaris attended the meeting and asked the government that it refrain from creating hurdles in the process of registration of madaris. JUI-F head also attended the meeting held in Jamia Usmania.
The bill, as per reports, pertains to the seminaries registration of by the deputy commissioner office in every district. The process was continuing before 2019. However, an agreement between the religious seminaries and the government in 2019 introduced changes in the process. It made compulsory for madressah to contact the federal ministry of education for registration.
The parliament adopted the new bill (Societies Registration Amendment Act 2024) on October 22 on the occasion of passage of 26th amendment. However, President Asif Ali Zaradri raised objections on it before flying to UAE. The latest development created a rift between JUI-F and the government as both side seemed unwilling to change their stance.
