Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has spent a full night in Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda central jail.
As per media reports, he is going through a tough time even though his film Pushpa 2 is a great box office hit.
Built in 1876 by the then Nizam (ruler) of the Indian state Hyderabad, Chanchalguda, is one of the oldest jails of India.
Police arrested the actor on Friday in a case related to Sandhya Theatre stampede. The incident took life of a 30 years old woman whose family charged the actor in the FIR.
Police went to arrest him from his residence immediately after registration of the case. So, it was matter of hours that the superstar was in prison where his ordeal began.
Superstar in Jail
Following his initial medical examination-a necessary process under law-he was shifted to prison cell. It was like a nightmare for him, reports say.
He had to spend the night despite getting interim bail from the court. Telangana High Court granted him the bail but the documents were not ready to present before the jail authorities. His lawyers, tried their best, but could not reach before time limit at prison, causing delay his release.
Reports mentioned he was kept in ordinary room where he had to sleep on the floor.
“It was class-1 room of Manjira Barracks where Allu spent the night.”
North Indian movies start could not sleep entire night. He has not eaten anything during his stay in jail, media reported.
Earlier, he had made a surprise appearance at the screening of Pushpa 2 last week in Hyderabad city. As large number people rushed to cinema to see glimpse of their beloved hero, the rush caused stampede. It resulted the death of woman whose son also sustained serious injuries.
The local court initially sentenced Allu Arjun to 14 days in police custody but the high court granted him bail.
Indian movies stars and large number of actor’s fan have expressing sympathies in favour the accused, declaring him as innocent.
