The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon is set to start on December 14, with over 33,000 runners expected to participate.
The Marathon event, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and ADNOC, will be held in Abu Dhabi’s scenic waterfront. This event has invited international athletes as well as a large number of local community runners.
Participants will run past some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmarks, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the historic Al Bateen Palace, before finishing at the ADNOC Campus near Baynunah Public Park.
Organizers have announced that in addition to the main marathon, there will be several shorter races. A relay race for both male and female teams will take place alongside the marathon. The 10 km race will begin at 6:30 am, followed by a 2.5 km event at 8:45 am and a 5 km race at 9:30 am.
The marathon will offer over $300,000 in prize money, reflecting the high level of competition. The winners in both the male and female categories of the marathon will each receive $50,000. The Wheelchair race will also award prizes totaling $3,150 to the top three male and female finishers. Cash prizes are also available for top performers in the 10 km Wheelchair races, demonstrating the event’s commitment to inclusivity.
