New Delhi is in trouble, as 40 schools have received bomb threats through email, police evacuated the students and staff.
As per Indian media reports, over 40 schools in Delhi including DPS, R K Puram, DPS Vasant Kunj, G D Goenka, Paschim Vihar, Salwan Public School, Modern School, Cambridge School, and multiple DAV schools, received threat emails on Sunday. In these emails, it was mentioned that many bombs have been planted in about 40 schools.
“In the schools, small bombs have been planted in hidden places. These bombs may not damage buildings but will harm many students”, threat emails stated.
After receiving these emails, Delhi police instantly took position and evacuated the staff and students from these institutions. Officials also deployed bomb detection teams in the schools. Search teams walked these schools but found no suspicious items, reportedly.
After the search operation Delhi police have declared these threat emails a hoax. Police are now investigating the email’s IP address to find the sender.
Although no suspicious item is found, authorities have ordered to enhance the security of these schools to avoid any unexpected happening. In wake of these threat warnings, officials have ordered to close these schools temporarily.
