To make traveling easier, the Motorway Police have released an e-ticketing app. Travelers will no longer need paper tickets thanks to this new technology, which will provide digital tickets instead.
Drivers will get points for any errors or infractions, and their license will be suspended if they have accrued a set amount of points, according to a Motorway Police official. This is meant to promote increased road safety.
Drivers may register more quickly and easily thanks to the system’s auto-filled information. It will also make it easier for police to track down stolen cars, which would improve road safety.
Salman Choudhry, IG Motorways, discussed the progress made by the highway network on the 28th anniversary of the National Highways and Motorways Police. He clarified that the network had just 366 kilometers when it first began in 1997. Now spanning more than 4,500 kilometers, there are plans to expand it throughout all four provinces.
IG Motorways said that in order to maintain safety, police officers make use of cutting-edge equipment including speed guns, radars, and ambulances. Since last year, 95% of axle load rules have been put into effect, notwithstanding certain difficulties with axle load management.
Salman Choudhry also praised the police, highlighting a sub-inspector who was killed after being struck by a car. The police force is already 97% paperless, which improves operational efficiency, he said as he announced intentions to implement a cashless system.
