The United Arab Emirates (UAE) strongly denied rumors spread regarding the visa ban for Pakistani citizens and nationals.
UAE Consul General Dr. Bakhit Atiq-Al-Rumaithi said during an event that “it is a false claim that the UAE is not issuing visas to Pakistanis.” The general added, ” However wanted to obtain a UAE visa should visit UAE’s Visa center.”
Dr. Bakhit Atiq-Al-Rumaithi reiterated the UAE’s support of the federal capital, Islamabad, and said, “We have received an order from our government to stand with Pakistan.”
He stated that over the next month or two, significant progress is expected in terms of investment in Pakistan.
This statement came after the Pakistani embassy last week denied media reports that the UAE government had issued a document regarding the imposition of a visa ban on Pakistanis.
These reports also claimed that the cabinet meeting had considered imposing a visa ban on Pakistanis. This is not the first statement from the Consul General on this matter.
In August, he had similarly dismissed such rumors and urged Pakistanis to refrain from spreading propaganda against their country, institutions, or politicians on social media.
He warned that “whether you are in Pakistan or the UAE, whatever you share or like on social media leaves a digital footprint for you. If you share something wrong, it can result in visa rejection or ban.”
