Actor Imran Abbas voiced his frustration after critics labeled him a liar for revealing that he had been offered roles in multiple Bollywood films.
In a recent interview, Abbas explained, “When I mentioned being considered for the Heera Mandi web series, people called me a liar.” However, renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali confirmed that he had indeed considered casting Abbas, alongside other Pakistani actors.
Abbas previously shared on several national TV platforms that he had received offers for various Bollywood projects but couldn’t accept them due to other commitments. Despite this, he faced accusations of fabrication and received mockery and criticism.
He pointed out that many in the Pakistani media appeared to trust certain Indian journalists, known for spreading misinformation, more than his own statements.
Abbas also implied that his claims regarding Bollywood offers got dismissed as lies, influenced by these journalists.
Having worked in the industry for over two decades, Abbas questioned why he would fabricate such significant claims.
He emphasized that filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rajkumar Hirani are respected figures, and he would never lie about being offered roles by them.
The actor clarified that while he received offers for various Bollywood projects, he never claimed to have turned them down; rather, circumstances prevented him from accepting them.

Abbas recalled receiving offers for Heera Mandi and Aashiqui 2, but explained that he had already committed to another project at the time.
He also shared that he once received an offer for a role in Bhansali’s Guzaarish (2010) but couldn’t accept it, as well as an offer for a role in Aamir Khan’s PK, where he was considered for the character of Sarfaraz, later played by Sushant Singh Rajput.
Abbas expressed regret over how people dismissed his claims, even in rural areas, which caused him emotional distress and disappointment.
