The Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, has announced the establishment of dedicated counters to expedite passport issuance for Hajj pilgrims.
These special desks will be set up at regional offices, head offices, and passport centers across the country. Pilgrims will be prioritized and can expect to receive their passports within 24 hours of submitting their applications, ensuring a streamlined process ahead of the Hajj season.
Airfare Reduced for Hajj 2025
In a significant development, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has secured a reduction in airfare for Hajj pilgrims for the 2025 season. Pilgrims will now pay $800 for flights, down from $850 last year. The decrease follows agreements between the ministry, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and Saudi Airlines to manage the transportation of 35,000 pilgrims each to the Holy Sites.
Cost Relief for Pilgrims
The reduction in airfare comes as a welcome relief to pilgrims, many of whom have struggled with rising travel and accommodation costs in recent years.
By lowering expenses, the government aims to make the spiritual journey more affordable and accessible to a greater number of Pakistanis.
Ministry’s Commitment to Pilgrim Welfare
The Ministry of Religious Affairs continues its efforts to improve the welfare of Hajj participants. The introduction of specialized passport counters and the reduction in travel costs are key steps in alleviating financial burdens on pilgrims.
These initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to facilitating a smooth and economical pilgrimage experience for its citizens.
