To mark the birth anniversary of Sikh spiritual leader Guru Nanak, the Punjab government has designated November 15 as a public holiday exclusively in District Nankana Sahib.
This announcement was confirmed by a notification from Deputy Commissioner Tasleem Akhtar Rao, specifying that the holiday will allow the district’s residents to observe Guru Nanak’s 555th birthday.
The celebrations are scheduled to span from November 13 through November 16, with a large influx of pilgrims expected. Over 3,000 Indian Sikh devotees have been granted visas by Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi to join the festivities in Pakistan from November 14 to November 23.
On the social platform X, Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich extended his congratulations to the Sikh community and wished all pilgrims a peaceful and rewarding journey.
