One of the biggest private developers in Dubai, DAMAC Properties, announced on its website that it has founded DAMAC Air, a luxury airline, on Monday.
On Instagram, the developer has been teasing the new airline with details about its locations and a contest to win a complimentary vacation.
By providing “unparalleled journeys capturing the essence of the world’s most coveted tropical paradises,” the new airline is revolutionizing luxury travel, according to the website.
Additionally, “handpicked” tropical places was revealed on the website.
“Discover Hawaii’s lively character, the tranquility of Bali, and the blue seas of the Maldives. Explore six famous tropical destinations with our creative concept: Bali, Maldives, the Hawaiian Islands, Seychelles, Fiji, and Bora Bora.”
When DAMAC Air enters the market, it will be up against rivals like as Rotana Jet and Beond.
The first flight from Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) to the Maldives was operated by Beond, which bills itself as the first premium leisure airline in history, in April 2024.
Having a profit before tax of AED 10.4 billion (USD 2.8 billion) for the first half of 2024–25, Dubai’s main carrier, The Emirates Group, reported its best-ever half-year financial performance last week. This figure surpassed its record profit before tax for the same period last year.
The Al Maktoum International Airport, which is five times larger than Dubai International Airport (DXB) and is expected to be the largest in the world with a capacity of up to 260 million people, would also increase Dubai’s transport capacity.
The DAMAC Group was established in 1982 in Dubai and has a broad portfolio that includes capital markets, retail, fashion, data centers, hotel, and luxury real estate developments.
