Hezbollah has announced its involvement in direct conflict with Israel, asserting that Israeli settlers in the north will not return until a ceasefire is in place.
This declaration came from Hezbollah’s leader, Naim Qassem, in a recent statement.
In reaction, Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered a stark warning, saying, “Naim Qassem has repeated the errors of his predecessors.”
While visiting injured soldiers in Haifa, Herzog remarked, “Naim Qassem’s days are numbered. He will soon face his destiny.”
Herzog also accused Qassem of attempting to obscure the role Hezbollah and its allies, including Iran, have played in Lebanon’s devastation.
Earlier, in a recorded speech, Naim Qassem addressed the Israeli public, saying:
“The solution to your home front lies in a ceasefire. This is not a sign of weakness. If Israel refuses, we will continue the fight.”
He cautioned that without a ceasefire, northern residents would not return home, leaving hundreds of thousands, or even millions, in danger.
Qassem urged patience and resilience from Lebanese civilians displaced by Israeli strikes.
