Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang arrived in Pakistan on Monday in order to attend the October 15–16 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
The Chinese prime minister, accompanied by top officials and ministers from the China International Development Cooperation Agency, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministries of Commerce and Foreign Affairs, was welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
PM Qiang will have in-depth talks with PM Shehbaz during his visit.
With special attention to commercial and economic relationships as well as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the conversation will center on enhancing Pakistan-China relations.
Along with discussing regional and international issues, the two leaders will highlight their strategic alliance.
Premier Qiang is scheduled to meet with Pakistan’s top military authorities and important parliamentary figures during his visit, in addition to President Asif Ali Zardari.
The two countries’ solid, all-weather strategic cooperation alliance will be strengthened by these talks.
Leaders from the bloc are expected to attend the two-day SCO Council of Heads of Government conference that Pakistan is hosting in Islamabad on October 15 and 16.
The prime ministers of Russia, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will be in attendance, along with S. Jaishankar, India’s foreign minister, and Mohammad Reza Aref, Iran’s first vice president.
To ensure the safety of the forthcoming SCO summit, the government has stationed the Pakistan Army in the nation’s capital.
The interior ministry said that the army personnel would be in charge of protecting Islamabad’s Red Zone, which will host the majority of the sessions and housing parliament and a diplomatic enclave.
