A group of unidentified individuals raided the Islamabad residence of former MNA and PTI leader Chaudhry Aijaz.
Renowned journalist Hamid Mir took to X (formerly Twitter) to share details of the raid, stating that the assailants were searching for MNA Chaudhary Aijaz in connection with the upcoming 26th constitutional amendment. “They started beating the staff of the MNA at his residence in Islamabad’s F-7 sector,” he reported.
As reported by Journalist Hamid Mir’s video around 15 assailants, described as veiled, misbehaved with the household staff during the incident.
Journalist Asad Toor also expressed concern about X, questioning the motives behind the raid. “So, this is how the ruling coalition will secure votes for the proposed constitutional amendment,” he remarked.
Toor further criticized Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, thanking him for reversing the 63 A judgment, which he claimed facilitated the ruling coalition’s actions.
The government plans to convene a National Assembly session following the SCO summit to discuss and potentially pass the highly debated constitutional amendment.
