Shehroze Kashif, a mountaineer from Pakistan, created history by being the youngest person to summit all 14 summits above 8,000 meters.
Today, the 22-year-old reached the 8,027-meter peak of Shishapangma, signifying the achievement of this milestone.
Kashif, often referred to as the “Broad Boy,” cemented his reputation as a legendary mountaineer when he reached the top early this morning.
After climbing Shishapangma, Sarbaz Khan just became the first Pakistani to conquer all 14 eight-thousanders. He is only the second person from Pakistan to accomplish this incredible achievement.
In 2019, Kashif’s quest to summit the eight thousanders started when, at the tender age of seventeen, he accomplished the ascent of Broad Peak, a height of 8,047 meters. His early success propelled him into global recognition.
Kashif achieved three famous mountain summits in 2021: Everest, Manaslu, and K2. He demonstrated his abilities the next year when he ascended to the peaks of Gasherbrum I and II, Lhotse, Makalu, Nanga Parbat, and Kanchenjunga. Last year, he achieved three more mountains: Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna.
An accident prevented him from reaching the peak of Shishapangma last year. If he had been successful then, he would have become the world’s youngest climber to accomplish the difficult task of reaching the top of all 14 eight-thousanders.
