Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday reacted to the arrest of Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minsiter Imran Khan.
Information Advisor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by saying that the PML-N mafia is using low tactics even against women.
In his statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Saif said that in order to save their illegitimate power, the PML-N has crossed all boundaries, and the PML-N mafia is resorting to underhanded tactics even against women.
He further added that the arrest of female workers is an extremely foolish move, and it was hard to imagine that the federal and Punjab governments could stoop to such a disgraceful level.
Barrister Saif said that the end of the PML-N’s illegitimate rule is inevitable, and neither Maryam Nawaz nor Shehbaz Sharif will find a place to hide from the people.
Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan arrested from Islamabad’s D-Chowk
The Islamabad Police on Friday arrested Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, the sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, from D-Chowk.
The both sisters were taken into custody from D-Chowk and shifted to Secretariat Police Station.
PTI had announced a protest at D-Chowk earlier in the day, after which party workers began arriving at the site. Imran Khan’s sisters had also reached D-Chowk to participate in the protest, where they were arrested.
Besides it, the police arrested dozens of workers who had reached D-Chowk, and used shelling to disperse groups of workers arriving in groups. The police also carried out heavy shelling at Faizabad and Murree Road to halt any further advances, and this process continued intermittently.
The police arrested both male and female workers from D-Chowk, and the arrests of more protesters are ongoing. Moreover, the police arrested PTI workers from Chungi Number 26 and Rawalpindi. Shelling was also carried out near Burhan Interchange on the convoy of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, Interior Minsiter Mohsin Naqvi had warned the PTI against protests, and said that they would not tolerate it at any cost. He said that security of the heads of the state during the SCO summit was the responsibility of the state.
