Actress Mira Sethi has voiced her support for fellow artist Hiba Bukhari, responding firmly to online criticism aimed at Bukhari for displaying her baby bump in public.
In an Instagram story, Mira Sethi defended Hiba Bukhari, who became the focus of attention at the Hum Awards in London after attending the event in a gown that showcased her pregnancy.
Initially, Bukhari had remained silent about the rumors surrounding her pregnancy. However, she later confirmed the news via her YouTube channel and explained why she had kept it private for some time.
Following her public appearance, Bukhari faced backlash from internet trolls who condemned her choice of attire, deeming it inappropriate for a pregnant woman.
In response, Sethi posted a screenshot of one of the critical comments on her Instagram story, asking, “What’s wrong with being pregnant, looking attractive, and continuing to work?”
She went on to write, “Hiba Bukhari’s body and her elegant green dress are her personal choices.”
Sethi also took the opportunity to applaud women who maintain their professional commitments during pregnancy, highlighting that showing a baby bump while working is far from disrespectful.
