A local court on Monday rejected the bail plea of PTI’s founding chairman Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the second Toshakhana case.
Special Judge Central Shah Rukh Arjumand conducted the hearing regarding the second Toshakhana case at Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, the FIA prosecutor stated that the accused did not deposit a valuable set worth 71.5 million rupees received from the Saudi government into the Toshakhana. Instead, they had the price of the Bulgari set valued at only 5.8 million rupees through a private firm.
Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, argued that this Toshakhana case is similar to the previous reference, with identical charges and the same approvers.
He further stated, “How can there be two separate cases for the same Toshakhana issue? Bushra Bibi has been imprisoned for seven months. After the Supreme Court’s decision to restore the NAB amendments, this case should be dismissed.”
Barrister Salman Safdar mentioned that the case was transferred from the NAB court to the Special Judge Central, yet no bail was granted to Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He urged the court to approve their bail.
After hearing arguments from both sides’ lawyers, the court rejected Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s bail plea in the second Toshakhana case.
