Sayeeda Warsi Resigns, the first Muslim cabinet minister in the UK, resigned from the Conservative Party in protest.
According to foreign media, Sayeeda Warsi accused the Conservative Party of hypocrisy and right-wing politics before parting ways.
During David Cameron’s premiership, Sayeeda Warsi also served as the party’s co-chairperson.
In response to her resignation, the Conservative Party stated that Sayeeda Warsi was to be investigated regarding her alleged “divisive language,” and assured that all complaints would be heard without bias.
The media reports suggested that the complaint against Sayeeda Warsi was related to a post regarding Mariyah Hussain.
Warsi had congratulated Mariyah Hussain in a post after her acquittal by the court.
Sayeeda Warsi is a Pakistani born British national who became the politician after legal professiin in the UK.
