In first of its kind incident, the robbers looted the donation box of a mosque in Sundar area of Lahore on Friday.
The robbery incident took place at a mosque, said the police.
The police said that three robbers held the mosque’s imam hostage at gunpoint during the incident.
They said that the robbers took the money collected in the mosque’s donation box and ran away.
“The case has been registered,” said the police, adding that the investigation of the incident was started.
The culprits, the police said, would be arrested soon.
A few days ago, a young man was deprived of his cell phone in Shah Jamal area of Ishra police precinct. The robbers came on a bike, snatched the mobile from the hands of the victim and ran away.
The various parts of the city reported increase in the robbery incidents.
