Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) got permission from the district administration to hold a rally in Lahore.
The local administration gave permission to hold rally in Jallo Park .
In light of a court order, the Deputy Commissioner’s office issued a permit allowing PTI to hold its rally, stating that instead of Minar-e-Pakistan, the rally will now take place at Jallo Park.
According to the administration, PTI has been granted permission to hold the rally from 2pm to 5pm.
Meanwhile, a delegation of dozens of Punjab Assembly members, led by Opposition Leader Punjab Malik Ahmed Khan Bhuchar, visited the Minar-e-Pakistan rally ground, where they found the gates locked, and the police deployed heavily, denying PTI leaders entry.
Additionally, the district administration has become active regarding PTI’s Lahore rally, banning public entry to Minar-e-Pakistan and locking all gates. Containers have been placed on all routes leading to Minar-e-Pakistan, and a heavy police force has been deployed.
On the other hand, the PTI’s preparations for the Lahore rally have entered the final stages.
A caravan led by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will depart from Swabi tomorrow morning while PTI leadership has instructed each candidate to bring 500 workers along.
The caravan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be led by the Chief Minister, and the authorities have decided to bring machinery to remove any barriers.
Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Barrister Saif, said that preparations for the Lahore rally from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are complete, and a sea of people would move from Swabi to Lahore.
He warned the “fake government” not to make the mistake of placing obstacles in the way of this public wave and advised Maryam Nawaz to keep her composure.
The Lahore High Court had ordered the district administration to make a decision regarding PTI’s rally by 5pm, disposing of the petition.
In a written judgment on PTI’s application, Justice Farooq Haider directed the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore to decide on the application by 5pm as per the law.
The court also mentioned that the petition seeking to block the rally was not maintainable and, therefore, was disposed of.
