On Monday, the Karachi Traffic Police unveiled a detailed diversion plan to facilitate smooth traffic flow for three processions marking the 12th Rabi ul Awal Eid Milad un Nabi, set to take place on Tuesday.
The processions will commemorate Eid Milad un Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
As part of the arrangements, MA Jinnah Road and adjoining streets will remain closed throughout Tuesday to accommodate the processions, according to traffic authorities.
The first two processions will commence at 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm, starting from Kharadar Masjid and Memon Masjid.
The first will conclude at Gulzar-e-Habib Masjid, while the second will end at Aram Bagh Masjid. A third procession, also departing from Memon Masjid, is scheduled to conclude at Nishtar Park.
To ensure a smooth procession route, traffic from M Arkiani Chowk will be redirected towards Chowrangi Road.
Vehicles coming from the Empress Market area will be rerouted onto Zaibunnisa Street, and traffic from Sharea Liaquat’s Aram Bagh light signal will be diverted to Shaheen Complex.
For those traveling from University Road, traffic will be directed to Kashmir Road via the Jail Flyover, while routes towards People’s Chowrangi will be shifted to Saddar through Sharea Quaideen or Corridor-III.
The traffic police also confirmed that vehicles coming from Guru Mandir will be redirected towards Central Jail, and no traffic from Lasbela will be permitted to enter MA Jinnah Road.
