Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that a constitutional amendment would be presented in the National Assembly on Saturday (tomorrow ).
During an informal conversation in the corridors of the Parliament, Khawaja Asif said that a session of the National Assembly is being convened tomorrow.
When a journalist asked if constitutional amendments would be introduced in the session, Khawaja Asif replied, “Yes, we will present constitutional amendments in tomorrow’s session.” When asked if they have the required numbers for the amendment, Khawaja Asif confirmed, “Yes, we have secured the necessary numbers for the constitutional amendment.”
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar denied the claim of a constitutional amendment being presented tomorrow.
In response to a journalist’s question about the amendment, Azam Nazir Tarar said, “Currently, discussions are ongoing regarding the issue of opposition MNAs.”
He added, “We have also summoned the Interior Minister regarding the arrests, and he has said that production orders will be issued. If the session takes place, the production orders will be issued.”
When asked if a constitutional amendment would be introduced tomorrow, Azam Nazir Tarar responded, “No, you seem to know more than I do.”
