Momal Sheikh the daughter of legendary actor Javed Sheikh has claimed that her family is the Kapoor family of Pakistan just like Bollywood’s Kapoor.
In one of her recent interviews, she said, “My family is as deeply rooted in the entertainment industry as the Kapoors.”.
Momal, during an interaction with actress Ushna Shah, agreed that it was a good suggestion that their family, comprising the famous names of Behroze Sabzwari and Saleem Sheikh, among others, could justifiably be called the “Kapoors of Lollywood”.
She elaborated, “If you count the families of my uncles, Behroze and Saleem combined, we certainly are like the Kapoor family dynamic in Pakistan.”
More precisely, Momal says, “Our family is the Sheikhs. My phuppa is Behroze Sabzwari, married to my father Javed Sheikh’s sister Safeena. Salim Chacha is my father’s brother. Just like the Kapoors, we are also one big family of actors”.
Momal Sheikh said that she is the eldest daughter of Javed Sheikh and his first wife, Zinat Mangi. She added that her brother Shahzad Sheikh also follows in the footsteps of their father being an actor, while her uncle Saleem Sheikh is also a well-known actor within the industry.
Adding to the family’s long line of actors, Behrooz Sabzwari, who is married to Javed, and Saleem Sheikh’s sister Safeena, also has a son in showbiz by the name of Shahroz Sabzwari. Shahroz, once married to the actress Syra Yousaf, went on to marry model Sadaf Kanwal back in 2020.
