Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on revealed that his planned rally on August 22 was postponed upon the request of the establishment.
Imran Khan shared that Azam Swati, a senior PTI leader, approached him early in the morning on the day of the rally, conveying a message from the establishment.
The PTI founder made this disclosure while talking to the journalists inside Adiala Jail, where Khan is currently detained on Monday
According to Imran Khan, Swati informed him that the establishment had requested the rally be called off for the stability of the country.
Swati highlighted concerns about the potential unrest, citing a major cricket match and planned protests by religious groups in Islamabad, which could have led to chaos.
Imran Khan further claimed that the establishment provided assurances that full cooperation would be extended for the rescheduled rally on September 8.
In light of this assurance and in the interest of national peace, the decision was made to postpone the August 22 rally.
