Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, officially took on the diplomatic duties of his position in Washington on Wednesday.
Rizwan was met at the airport in the US capital by representatives of the US State Department and the embassy, according to a news statement.
In his initial meeting with embassy personnel on Wednesday, Rizwan talked about objectives within the framework of Pakistan’s financial situation.
His packed first day at work also included talks with leaders of many organizations, who briefed him in-depth, and a Zoom conference with Pakistani consul generals in the US.
The newly appointed Pakistani envoy to the US emphasized the value of the connection between Pakistan and the US during his meeting with the embassy’s officials.
According to the press release, Rizwan declared that his top priority will continue to be “cementing multifaceted Pak-US relations, boosting economic ties, and enhancing people-to-people linkages” during the conference.
In addition, he emphasized the significance of the Pakistani diaspora in the US, calling it a great asset of the nation and pointing out its role in forging a solid link in ties between Pakistan and the US.
