As the summer vacations are concluding on Wednesday, the Punjab government has issued fresh schedule for schools.
Punjab School Education Department has notified new school timings in a notification.
The new timing for schools will be effective from August 15, 2024 (Thursday). Summer vacations will conclude on August 14.
The schools in Lahore will operate under the following timings:
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Schools in Punjab running on morning and evening shift (double shift) will operate under following schedule:
Morning Shift: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
The schools will follow the same schedule on Fridays. The teachers and other staff will also follow the same
On Fridays, these sessions will adhere to the same schedule as the regular school timings.
Meanwhile, Punjab government is also working on privatization of schools as the reports are circulating regarding it.
It is considering to handover some 13,000 schools to private sectors. The teachers and schools staff are expected to resist the move.
The provincial governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan have also issued the fresh timings for schools.
