Fans of the Pakistani hip-hop duo Young Stunners may be wondering if their upcoming tour in India will go ahead as planned.
The duo, consisting of Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus, has garnered a substantial fan base in India.
The scheduled performances are set for December 13 in Mumbai, December 21 in Bengaluru, and December 25 in Delhi.
The tour is being organized by Skill Box, which has already started pre-registrations for tickets, prioritizing early buyers.
Despite the anticipation, the Young Stunners have not promoted the tour on their social media platforms, focusing instead on their tours in Australia and Canada.
This has led to some controversy, with Indian social media users resurfacing old tweets from Talha Anjum that allegedly mocked Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and supported Kashmir’s independence.
Desi Disco Entertainment, the organizers of the India tour, maintain that the shows will proceed as planned, with ticket registrations still open on another platform.
Vaheed Khan, director of Desi Disco, addressed the controversy in an interview with The Print, suggesting that the negative backlash was part of a larger attempt to undermine the tour for financial reasons.
Khan stated, “We won’t let a few negative tweets stop our show. Some social media pages wanted a share of our profits, but we refused to promote them. That’s why they started posting negative tweets. Half of these tweets are fake and have nothing to do with Talha or Pakistan.”
The Young Stunners have a significant following in India, with Mumbai boasting 152,583 Spotify listeners and New Delhi 245,000.
Amid the controversy, fans eagerly await an official announcement from the duo regarding the India tour.
