The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a major salary increase for domestic players as part of its plan for Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25.
This move represents a major increase in player salaries and is expected to affect 150 domestic players in addition to cricket players under central contract.
There will be 261 matches in eight senior men’s tournaments during the forthcoming season, which spans from September 1, 2024, to August 5, 2025.
In order to provide a just and competitive remuneration package, the PCB’s new contract structure is intended to identify and honor players who have excelled over the previous three years.
Category 1: 40 cricketers will get PKR 550,000 per month.
Category 2: 50 cricketers will get PKR 400,000 per month.
Category 3: 60 cricketers will be get PKR 250,000 per month
Compared to the previous season, when domestic contracts ranged from PKR 50,000 to PKR 300,000, this is a significant rise.
Players will receive greater match costs in addition to their salary; red-ball cricket matches will cost PKR 200,000, 50-over games PKR 125,000, and T20 matches PKR 100,000.
Compared to the previous season’s fees, which were PKR 40,000 for white-ball cricket and PKR 80,000 for red-ball cricket, this is a huge increase.
