In a major setback, the fiber optic cable to connect Pakistan to Singapore has been cut causing internet disruption.
As per authorities, it would take a month to completely mend the five cuts in the underwater optical fibre connection, according to sources.
Reports from Pakistan Telecommunication (PTA) claim that the severing of the optical fibre cable has impacted internet connectivity coming from the eastern direction. Internet browsing is quite challenging for Pakistani individuals.
According to PTA, Pakistani consumers will still have issues in the evenings.
Internet traffic has been diverted to other sources as fewer than 10% of traffic comes from the eastern direction, according to PTCL sources.
