The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoIT&T) has received a thorough 5G working paper from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), which is a noteworthy milestone.
This important document, which was created by PTA representatives following industry input, provides a national strategy for the installation and merging of 5G networks.
The working paper would be submitted to the Ministry of Finance under the direction of Captain (Retd) Muhammad Mehmood, the recently appointed Federal Secretary for the Ministry of IT, as per local media reports.
The working paper covers a wide range of important aspects that are necessary for the effective rollout of 5G services. It provides a comprehensive picture of the path toward 5G deployment, from industry preparations and expectations to addressing issues and defining regulatory frameworks.
It also highlights how 5G networks may facilitate new technologies, which would help Pakistan advance in terms of innovation and connection.
The Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) rigorously undertakes the duty of assessing spectrum availability, which is essential to the deployment of 5G.
The federal government will reportedly release a policy directive for the rollout of 5G once the Frequency Allocation Board distributes the spectrum and shares the 5G working paper with the Finance Ministry, according to reports.
The PTA will start the process by engaging consultants for the launch of 5G in accordance with the policy guideline.
