Around 56 Pakistani prisoners, released from Sri Lankan jails, have returned to Pakistan.
Released prisoners included five women and 51 men. They were incarcerated in Sri Lankan prisons for many years.
Freed prisoners arrived back to Pakistan on a special chartered flight. Prisoners shed tears of joy during their emotional return..
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan worked hard to make the repatriation of these prisoners possible.
The freed prisoners expressed deep gratitude to both ministers and offered prayers for their well-being.
Mohsin Naqvi took the initiative to discuss the matter with the Sri Lankan high commissioner. This negotiation resulted in the repatriation of the prisoners.
Abdul Aleem Khan covered all expenses for the chartered flight and other costs related to the repatriation.
Naqvi praised the Sri Lankan government and its high commissioner for their cooperation in helping with the release and return of the prisoners.
He thanked Abdul Aleem Khan for his financial support, emphasizing that the repatriation would not have happened without it.
The returning prisoners shared their relief and happiness at being back in Pakistan.
A prisoner said, “We are greatly thankful to Mohsin Naqvi and Abdul Aleem Khan. We have finally returned to Pakistan. We will never forget this kindness.”
An elderly woman echoed this sentiment that she will never forgot the favor of Pakistani ministers.
