A 5.4-magnitude earthquake shook Islamabad and multiple regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday.
The tremors were experienced across various cities in KP, including Peshawar, Swat, North Waziristan, Hangu, Mardan, Malakand, Buner, Shangla, Dir, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, and Kohistan. The quake was also felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
The Meteorological Department reported that the earthquake originated in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan at a depth of 215 km.
Tremors were also detected in the border areas of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, as reported by international media.
