A terrorist attack on the Bahadur Khel police post in Karak resulted in lost of three lives while six police official sustained severe injuries.
In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, heavily armed militants launched an attack on Bahadur khel police check post, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials reported.
According to police report, the attackers opened fire on the station, killing officer Taimur Hayat, Naqeeb and Adnan on the spot, while six other personnel sustained injuries.
As the unsettling incident occurred, police opened retaliatory fires, but the assailants fled the scene, police officials stated.
According to police reports, four of the injured were taken to Karak’s District Headquarters Hospital, while two critically wounded officers were shifted to Peshawar for specialized medical treatment.
After the tragic incident, officials has deployed a large contingent of police in the area to conduct a search operatio, Karak’s District Police Officer (DPO) stated.
Local police have also enhanced the security measures in the area to prevent any other incident of terrorism.
This recent incident once again put a question mark on the security cracks in the region.
Previously, just days earlier, a policeman was deceased during an anti-polio campaign in Khyber district. Not only this a vaccination team was also attacked in Bakarabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has demanded a report of these terroristic activities in the region. PM has announced to launch a counterterrorism strategy to eradicate the miscreants from the region.
Notably, according to records, over 1,600 lives lost in attacks during 2023. This figure stands as one of the most violent periods in nearly a decade.
