Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast: The 204th annual Urs of the esteemed Sufi poet Sachal Sarmast commenced on March 14 and will continue until March 16, 2025, at Daraza, Khairpur.
The religious event has been organized by the Sachal Sarmast Shrine Committee, led by Deputy Commissioner Syed Ahmed Fawad Shah.
To inaugurate the three day celebrations, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and former Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will atke part in a chadar-laying ceremony at the Sachal Sarmast shrine.
After the inauguration ceremony the shrime committee has arranged a musical conference. Senator Syed Kazim Ali Shah will attend this ceremony as a chief guest at the Sachal Complex. Many MNAs and MPAs will also attend the musical evening.
During the event, an award ceremony was held at the Mehfil-e-Sama Hall, where the launches of Sarmast 44 and Sachal Souvenir 34 were announced.
Additionally the event will feature religious and cultural gatherings, Sufi poetry recitals, and various other programs.
To ensure the safety of devotees, 1,100 police personnel have been deployed in the area. Other relevant authorities have also engaged in managing the arrangements.
The purpose of these yearly Urs ceremonies is to pay tribute to Sachal Sarmast’s ageless teachings, which promoted spirituality, love, and unity. A major cultural and religious event in Sindh’s rich spiritual legacy, Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast is anticipated to draw thousands of devotees, academics and fans of Sufi music.
