In the Bannu Cantonment attack on Tuesday night, at least 11 people have died, including 5 women, 4 children. However, 22 have attained injuries.

Statement from the security personnel stated that the attack started around 6.30pm minutes after Iftar when militants started firing grenades and bullets.
As per DAWN news reports, 10 security persons are also included in the deceased’s leg, and the injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital and Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu. However, the injured were rescued and taken to the Combined Medical Hospital in Bannu for the treatment.
Security forces have killed almost 6 terrorists during the face-off.
On the other hand, Jaish-e-Fursan Mohammed has accepted the responsibility of that act on social media website X.
Due to the high intensity of the blast, many houses collapsed, resulting in more deaths due to people getting buried under rubble.

President reaction to the blast:
President Asif Ali Zardari and Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani also fiercely criticized the terrorist strike.
Deeply sorry for the loss of valuable life, they said the whole nation repudiates these cowardly assaults.
The President commended the security forces for their courageous and prompt reaction.
The Senate President noted that enemy forces could not weaken the will of the nation by means of such violence.
Barrister Saif, Information Advisor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also remarked on the event. He said that all terrorists participating in the strike had been neutralized.
